LOCK stands for Leading Others to Christ’s Kingdom. LOCK groups consist of up to four people; one leader who is called a guide and three discoverers who are on their own spiritual journeys.
LOCK is designed so that those involved can get individualized attention and recommendation for growth in Christ. The guide’s job is to challenge, strengthen and ask. The guide will also provide resources for spiritual growth that address the individual’s unique gifting, personality and interests. The focus is on helping each person find Christ in his/her life, problems and futures.
Each Sunday discoverers will share with the guide and each other about their lives and what/where they feel God is leading them too. It isn’t a class but a unique gathering of believers focused on becoming more like Jesus.
Guides do not have a script because life is beyond script. Guides do not have a text book because our lives aren’t always dealt with in a curriculum. Guides do not have a required list to get discovers to find because God’s goals for each of us are unique. What guides do have is willingness to encourage, pray, point out scripture, share new resources and otherwise lift up their discoverers as they seek Christ’s Kingdom.
This group of four will stay together for four months time and then discoverers will be able to sign up for another four month time with a new guide or the same guide.
LOCK groups meet on Sundays at noon and there is a high level of commitment.
